Robert Aitken’s logo

Robert Aitken made the first New Testament in English ever too be Made in America in 1777 in Philadelphia.  Then a few years later he made the first Bible in English every to be Made in America.  Aitken was a book seller, printer, and bookbinder.  This is his logo.  It draws attention to his Atlantic connection by showing a ship on the ocean. Aitken got many of the books that he sold in his shop from overseas.  Robert Aitken, of Philadelphia, was a printer, binder, publisher and bookseller.   He made the 1st Bible in English in America, aka “The Bible of the Revolution”.  Aitken had been printing New Testaments in English (the first in 1777) each year leading up to his complete Bible that was finally published in 1782.  Aitken ended up printing around 10,000 of these Bibles.  We make replicas of his 1777 & 1781 New Testaments and his 1782 Bible of the Revolution.  Let us know if you would like for us to make you one.
