The Danger of An Unconverted Ministry by Gilbert Tennent

This Day in History:  March 8th, 1740 Gilbert Tennent (1703-1764), an Irish-born Presbyterian minister, burst on the national scene with his sermon entitled, The Danger of An Unconverted Ministry.  This sermon was printed in Philadelphia by Benjamin Franklin.  “His message deplored placing men in pulpits who were not themselves converted to New Life” in the Messiah, Jesus. “Is a dead man fit to bring others to life?”  As you might image, this pamphlet created quite a controversy throughout the Colonies.  I make replicas of this and three other pamphlet/sermon by Tennent.  You may purchase all four from my Etsy Store at the following link:  They cost 9.95 each.  Purchase Here
